What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Server position at Crowne Plaza Hotel?
Seeking a banquet server to join our banquet team to help deliver food to guests. Ideal candidate is able to communicate with staff relaying correct order details to them and/or feedback. They also engage with guests throughout their meal to ensure everything is satisfactory.

- Read BEO and know how to complete a set-up
- Set tables and others areas as assigned correctly and uniformly.
- Keep station neat and clean while servicing guest per established policies and procedures.
- Use proper in-room clearing and aisle tray break-down buffet or other special food service tables and equipment.
- Assist Lead Banquet Server in setting up / breaking down buffet or other special food service tables and equipment.
- Greet and serve guests following guidelines set by the policies/procedures regarding the service of food and beverage.
- Follow all guest check and money-handling procedures when serving a-la-carte and beverage orders.
- Endures all appropriate side work is accomplished and other duties as assigned by management
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following:
- Know the menu for each function served and be able to explain the major ingredients and preparation methods for each item to be served.
Requirements: Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
- High school or equivalent
- Two years’ hotel banquet food/beverage service
- Able to read and speak English
- Able to lift, push, carry 50 - 75 lbs. and stay comfortable on their feet for the entire shift
- Effective communication, both written and verbal
- Extreme attention to detail and quality
- Positive attitude and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow verbal directions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Flexible; Scheduled days and times vary based on need
