FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (min 40 hrs, weekend and evening work will be expected, as needed), 1st Shift, 10 hr days - 4 days a week, Monday-Wednesday and rotating weekends
Reports to: Blending Supervisor
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Blending Operator I performs and reports on operational related activities and utilized technical skills to perform routine work using standard operating procedures related to food grade bacteria culture production.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the major functions of this position and are not intended to be a detailed description of all the work/functions that may be required. Other duties may be assigned.
- Able to perform the physical tasks and complete necessary paperwork associated with the following operations without guidance/supervision:
- Blending and packaging.
- Loading and unloading freeze dryers.
- Weighing ingredients, bulks and excipients.
- Cleaning rooms and equipment so they are suitable for production.
- Assemble/disassemble mill.
- Operation of the metal detector.
- Perform all master sanitation tasks associated with the department.
- Properly fill out room logs.
- Make corrections on documentation, adhering to GDP.
- Follows operating discipline policies, principles, procedures, standards, and practices to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of assigned areas
- Monitor and using HMI for basic processes.
- Proactively identifies improvements and opportunities utilizing improvement processes, appropriate management of change processes, and communication tools
- Perform sanitation duties per established frequency and procedures
- Comply with plant safety rules and maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition
- Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge and experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), preferred
- Ability to stand greater than 2/3 of the time.
- Ability to walk less than 1/2 of the time.
- Ability to sit 1/3 of the time.
- Ability to use hands greater than 2/3 of the time.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms less than 1/3 of the time.
- Ability to climb or balance less than 1/3 of the time.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl less than 1/3 of the time.
- Ability to talk and hear greater than 2/3 of the time.
- Ability to push or pull up to 50 pounds less than 1/3 of the time.
