Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Explain repair and maintenance options clearly, providing detailed auto estimates and cost breakdowns
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, brake repairs, suspension work, and transmission servicing to maximize customer satisfaction and dealership revenue
- Maintain accurate service writing records, update customer files, and process transactions efficiently including cash handling when necessary
- Schedule appointments and follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction after service completion
- Stay informed about automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and new technologies like diesel engine repair, air brake systems, shocks & struts, auto body repair, and more to provide expert guidance
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or auto service management background with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair processes
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Skilled in auto estimating software, service writing, and sales techniques to upsell services effectively
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance including oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, suspension systems, brakes, transmissions, diesel engines, shocks & struts, and auto body repairs
- Experience with automotive repair procedures such as air brake systems or auto estimating is highly desirable
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining a friendly demeanor
- Familiarity with mechanic experience or service technician roles enhances your ability to connect with both customers and technicians effectively
