Job Description
The Executive Sous Chef’s primary responsibility is to be the second in command in our kitchen, following our Executive Chef’s specifications and guidelines ensuring total guest satisfaction. This is achieved by:
- Helping in the preparation and design of all food and drinks menus
- Producing high quality plates both design and taste wise
- Ensuring that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
- Filling in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
- Resourcefully solving any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
- Managing and training kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff’s performance
- Ordering supplies to stock inventory appropriately
- Complying with and enforcing sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintaining a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
- Performing other duties as directed
Required experience
- Experience in a high-volume restaurant (2 years Manhattan experience)
- Understanding of various cooking methods and cuisines
- Maintain high-quality standards, clean work habits with a great attention to detail
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiar with industry’s best practices, equipment, and procedures
- Ability to meet physical and scheduling demands of the position, including, walking, standing, or lifting heavy items for extended periods and open availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
