TITLE: Plant Manager
POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Operations
POSITION REPORT TO: VP Operations
SUMMARY: Oversee, control and direct the operations of a food production facility. Manage the organization's manpower, technology, equipment and raw materials to produce a quality profitable and marketable product.
Responsible for managing plan operations to meet the production schedule with quality products in an efficient and safe manner.
Education and /or Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Business Administration, Manufacturing Operations, or Engineering
- 6 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent experience
- Prior food production facility maintenance experience preferred.
- Demonstrated staff leadership, strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage production to ensure that products meet customer service and quality requirements.
- Direct initiatives to achieve cost reduction, manufacturing efficiencies and product quality improvements for all operations.
- Maintain a maintenance program to minimize downtime.
- Ensure workplace safety and comply with legal and governmental requirements such as OSHA etc.
- Comply with corporate and company guidelines in Accounting, Human resources, Purchasing etc.
- Leads the overall manufacturing process from raw material receipt through the fabrication and packaging process.
- Responsible for employee development, performance management and staffing with a focus on management by objectives (i.e.: KPI's, Plant Objectives, etc.)
- Support quality standards, inventory accuracy and production planning schedules with a focus on reduction/avoidance of failure costs.
- Manage the daily operations of the Plant with a focus on employees, safety and productivity.
- Commit to plant safety procedures.
- Physical Demands: Must be capable of lifting to 25 lbs. Perform repetitive hand/ arm motions.
