Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, including children and individuals with special needs, while ensuring a positive and secure environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to manage various driving conditions.
Duties
- Safely operate a bus or other commercial vehicle according to established routes and schedules.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate records of passenger counts, routes, and any incidents that occur during transit.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, parents, and school officials regarding schedules and any changes.
- Provide assistance to passengers as needed, including helping them board and disembark from the vehicle.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving in various weather conditions.
- Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly to ensure vehicle reliability.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for bus operation.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to write clear reports and maintain accurate records.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicles is advantageous for troubleshooting minor issues.
- Previous experience in childcare or working with children is highly desirable.
- Must pass background checks and drug screenings as required by law and company policy.
