Summary
Under supervision, performs a variety of functions associated with interviewing and
determining continued eligibility for the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Mailing packets to recertification participants who are seeking to remain a participant in the Housing Choice Voucher Program assistance; explains and responds to questions regarding the application; reviews verifies information to determine if continued eligibility for assistance; verifies income, background checks, references, household composition, and other items; applies clearly defined policies, procedures, parameters and standards to applicant’s individual situation; notifies participants of their status; creates files and records papers associated with applicant; prepares and keeps logs of all activities; tracks HAP payments and other program results.
Responds to inquires from participants that have questions regarding their housing assistance status.
Completes calculates of rent; notifies recipient; handles and maintains paperwork; reviews situations regarding income, family composition and/or other related changes to status; recalculates rent payment, housing and/or other needs based on changes; works with tenants regarding status or their agreement; entering status changes into the computer system and completing final calculation for recertification’s processes, mails notices; works with landlords to resolve issues and concerns; complies and prepares monthly reports; generates monthly checks and maintains copies of all check process reports. Conducting EIV/UIV required documents. Entering HQS inspection dates weekly. Conducting change of income and change of ownership when necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Knowledge, Skills and Other Characteristics
· Knowledge of applicable local, state and Federal statutes, rules, regulations, ordinances, codes and departmental policies and procedures and other governing documents.
· Knowledge of the principles of records and file management.
· Knowledge of basic to intermediate mathematical calculations
· Knowledge of principles of customer service and customer care skills, skill in understanding, interpreting and applying relevant statues, rules, policies, procedures and other governing documents.
· Skill in applying the principles of customer service and customer care in a variety of situations and circumstances.
· Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with employees,
· Skill in operating a computer utilizing a variety of software applications.

High School Diploma
