POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Formulation Chemist to design and execute product development from bench-top to commercialization of grooming and OTC products and supplements for companion animals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry and industry experience in R&D in a fast-paced production environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Formulate a wide range of liquid products (shampoos, emulsions, dermatological products
- Formulate a wide range of food products, experience with food manufacturing
- Conduct/evaluate raw material and formula performance and aesthetics
- Conduct product development stability testing.
- Understand the basic principles of good experimental design, data analysis and interpretation.
- Complete projects within agreed upon timelines.
- Expected to be able to develop new products, and revise (where necessary) current batch formulations in existing products.
- Coordinates with Production the trial production runs of the various lab batches and actively monitors the production line for any quality and manufacturing issues.
- Communicates, in a timely manner, to the President and or VP R&D any quality and manufacturing issues observed in trial lab and production runs.
- Is responsible for establishing and maintaining comprehensive notes, records, logs and complete folders per R&D product per R&D project.
- Is responsible for disposing all lab waste in accordance with SOPs, MSDSs and other industry standards.
- Strictly adheres to safety instructions, dress codes per company SOPs, & cGMPs.
- Design and develop new formulations based on product requirements and customer expectations
- Conduct laboratory testing to evaluate effectiveness, safety, and stability
- Modify existing formulations to enhance performance and cost-effectiveness
- Collaborate with multi-functional team to launch new products
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards in formulation development
- Document formulation procedures, testing results, and specifications
- Provide technical support on production floor during scale-ups
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in companion animal products
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or Master degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in research & development, and product batch formulations
- Proficient in MS Office skills including Outlook, Excel, Word
- Excellent English verbal and writing skills
- Experience in formulation development within pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, or grooming products
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques and regulatory compliance
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
