Description: We are seeking a compassionate and independent problem solver to join our collaborative team as an Occupational Therapist. This essential role involves working with internal and external stakeholders to meet our patients' needs. The ideal candidate will work independently while demonstrating leadership qualities and collaborating with others throughout our medical team. This role is vital in working with adult patients recovering from musculoskeletal, cognitive and neurological conditions. It will be essential to work with pediatric patients to address developmental delays, psychosocial concerns, and support the children and families. The delivery of care is in a critical access hospital in the acute and outpatient setting. We have an excellent care team available to offer support and career development.

Crosby-Ironton is a city of 3,000 residents and is part of the Brainerd and Cuyuna Lakes Area in central Minnesota which has become a top 5 destination in the United States for mountain biking. Crosby is just 15 miles from Brainerd, MN, and 2 hours from Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. The Brainerd Regional Airport, which is serviced by Delta Airlines, is located 11 miles from Crosby. We are within a 2 1⁄2 -hour radius of Alexandria, Duluth, and St. Cloud.

The Brainerd/Cuyuna Lakes Area boasts being both cosmopolitan yet small enough that you can find a place to call home whether on a lake, in the back woods, or in one of our many close by communities. There are great high school sports, local events, community theater, or enough bike trails to spend hours riding through our beautiful lakes area. The area has great schools and a two-year college.

- Active Occupational Therapist License in Minnesota
- American Heart Association BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Demonstrate a collaborative attitude to improving service delivery by building relationships with, patients, staff, and providers that optimize quality of care and overall experience for patients.
- Effectively and efficiently manage time between several tasks while ensuring patients receive quality care.
- Employ excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach to enhancing services to meet patient needs across the lifespan.
- Empathy, understanding and sensitivity when interacting with others, and ability to exert authority and conviction when needed.
- Demonstrate the self-awareness and resilience necessary to manage fast paced or stressful situations.
- Conduct assessments and design individualized occupational therapy treatments for patients of all ages.
- Evaluate physical, cognitive, developmental and psychosocial abilities of patients and develop realistic therapy goals and administer appropriate therapy programs.
- Maintain adequate documentation of patient encounters.
- Provide patients with education and home instruction to enhance their understanding and improve their functional outcomes.
- Collaborate with physicians as needed for further medical management.
