What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Eligibility Specialist position at CVR Associates?

This is a temporary Full-time position that is scheduled to last up to 3 months.
This position performs various Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program activities including, but not limited to: processing applications for eligibility and screening, re certifying a participant's status to ensure continued eligibility, preparing contracts, conducting briefings, and verifying information, all in conformance with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations, HCV policy, and prescribed performance standards. The services provided assist low-income families and individuals who may include the elderly or disabled. Assistance will include helping the families potentially secure temporary rent payment assistance because of a COVID-19 related income loss.
COVID-19 Rent Assistance – Eligibility Specialist
This position performs various COVID-19 rent program activities including, but not limited to:
- Processing applications for eligibility and screening, requesting family and landlord documentation, reviewing and verifying information.
- Accurately and timely calculating annual income from documentation provided by the family, updating applicant records and tracking.
- Reviewing documentation with attention to detail.
- Utilize computer programs to prepare correspondence and reports, requesting verification documents from landlords.
- Verifying eligibility for rent assistance, reviewing leases, determining rent assistance portion, all in conformance with established rent assistance policy, and prescribed performance standards.
- Candidates must show a high level of customer service with regard to emails, calls, text messages, etc.
- Candidates must meet daily and weekly goals with a high level of quality and accuracy.
- Candidates must be able to use a computer with the Internet and Microsoft Suite, be organized, show proper time management skills, take direction from supervisors, demonstrate strong customer service skills, and show strong teamwork and the ability to work alone.
