Founded in 1926, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is a private, not-for-profit educational, historic, and cultural institution that owns and operates one of the largest and best-known museum complexes in the world. JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Greet guests hospitably and serve them efficiently providing proper food and beverage service.
- Learn and describe menu items to guests including chef specials.
- Suggest wine and other beverages.
- Responsible for standard table set-up procedures and cleanliness of the dining room.
- Other duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age due to A.B.C. § 4.1-307
- 1 - 2 years server experience in a full service restaurant.
- Excellent public contact skills to include tact, courtesy and patience.
- Ability to (1) meet the standards listed below; (2) satisfy customers under all circumstances; (3) communicate effectively; (4) read and write, perform basic mathematical computations and memorize the food and beverages offered; (5) learn and communicate relevant dining information to guests;
- Successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a current Williamsburg James City County food handler’s card and TIPS® certification; applicants with an active card and certification should be prepared to present both during the interview process.
- Physical requirements include but are not limited to: (1) bending, lifting, stooping; (2) carrying trays weighing up to 50 pounds; (3) extensive use of stairs.
