Title: Analyst – Middle & Back Office Operations
Overview:
A growing investment management firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Analyst to join its Middle and Back Office Operations team. This group plays a critical role in supporting the firm's trading activity and ensuring accurate and efficient post-trade processes across a range of financial products.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for financial markets, strong problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset. This role offers exposure to multiple internal business units and senior leadership across the firm.
Products Supported:
- Equities and Equity Swaps
- Futures
- FX Spot and Forwards
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile positions, cash balances, dividend activity, and swap resets
- Investigate and resolve trade discrepancies
- Analyze and process corporate actions
- Generate and distribute daily flash P&L and NAV reports
- Support initiatives aimed at process optimization and increased team efficiency
- Manage trade workflows from execution through settlement, including affirmations, confirmations, and market event tracking
- Communicate regularly with internal teams (e.g., Trading, Technology, Treasury) and external stakeholders (e.g., Brokers, Vendors)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Adaptable and eager to learn in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and related applications
- Positive attitude with a collaborative and proactive work ethic
Preferred Experience:
- 3 plus years of experience in the financial services industry
- Familiarity with at least one asset class
- Exposure to SQL, Java, or Python
