POSITION/JOB SUMMARY:
As a Practice Manager, you will provide day to day operational leadership to Monterey County Surgical Associates. You will ensure that the practice maintains a patient and customer focus designed to support the delivery of the highest quality care. You will seek opportunities to grow the financial health and long-term sustainability of the practice.

For over 75 years, MCSA has provided superior surgical care to patients in Monterey County. The eight surgeon practice specializes in general, bariatric, vascular, head and neck surgery, The surgeons operate out of Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula and Monterey Surgery Center.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises the non-physician staff at assigned practice/facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Responsible for managing all aspects of the assigned practice/facility operation.
- Participates in the selection, training and supervision of non-physician clinic staff. This individual will also participate in performance evaluations, merit increases and disciplinary actions with the support from Cypress’ Corporate Office.
- Responsible for performing thorough financial analysis and cost-benefit analysis on all process improvement projects, capital equipment purchases, etc.
- Review and analyze clinical, financial and operating reports and make correlating decisions based on the data presented to ensure a sustainable and profitable operation.
- In collaboration with Cypress’ Billing & Collection Teams, the Practice Manager will monitor metrics and benchmarks are in acceptable ranges for the managed practice.
- Takes the lead on optimizing patient satisfaction and experience. Implements and monitors patient satisfaction survey tools and social media outlets (e.g. Yelp, Facebook and Google Reviews).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Advanced training or certification in management of clinic operations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills to serve as a trusted advisor to the client and leader to team members.
- In-depth knowledge of revenue cycle management, third party reimbursement, regulatory issues and compensation plan methodologies
- Technically savvy with EMR and PM systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with the practice lead physicians to drive organizational goals and deliver highest quality of care while maximizing practice performance.
- Creative, flexible and easily adapts to changing priorities.
- Energetic, takes initiative and able to work in a team environment as well as autonomously when needed.
- Exhibits a strong work ethic. This individual must be innovative, efficient and results focused.
CREDENTIALS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or Master’s degree with a healthcare focus preferred.
- Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a medical practice manager. The ideal candidate has worked in a practice of more than 5 physicians.
- Financial expertise in healthcare fiscal management.
- Valid Driver’s License.
