What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Pipelayer position at D.L. George & Sons?
D.L. George and Sons Construction is seeking Pipelayers with a minimum of 2 years utility installation (preferred). Must possess a general knowledge of underground utility installation, excavation and trench safety.
Pipelayer Responsibilities and Duties:
- Installation of water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer piping
- Ensure subgrade and piping is on grade and on line
- Familiarity with pipe lasers and pressure testing equipment
- Assist in backfilling and running compaction equipment
- Ability to rig shoring systems and structures
Pipelayer Qualifications and Skills:
- The Construction Pipelayer must have good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and balance.
- They must be able to read and understand warning signs and labels on a construction site, be able to interpret plans, drawings, and written instructions and specifications.
- They should be capable of working as a member of a team and have basic problem-solving and math skills.
- They must possess the knowledge and ability to operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assigned tasks may require climbing, bending, lifting, sitting, and reaching.
