Summary/Objective: The Parts Quality Inspector will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of manufactured goods to ensure they meet established quality standards, technical drawings, and purchase order specifications. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of quality assurance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed inspections of manufactured parts, components, and assemblies to verify compliance with technical drawings, specifications, and purchase orders.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments, gauges, and tools to perform accurate measurements and assessments of parts.
- Compare inspection results to established quality standards and identify any deviations or non-conformities.
- Record inspection findings and maintain accurate records of inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions taken.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to address and resolve any quality-related issues or discrepancies.
- Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and in-process inspections to monitor quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to provide feedback on inspection results and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical training or certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a quality inspector in aerospace or manufacturing.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong understanding of quality control principles and inspection techniques.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and document deviations from specifications.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and quality assurance procedures.
