What are the responsibilities and job description for the Calibration Technician, Level 1 (2nd Shift) position at Daikin Comfort Technologies?
The Calibration Technician will support the proper functioning and development of Engineering Lab by calibrating testing instrumentation on schedule, ensuring instruments, gauges and testing devices are calibrated correctly and give accurate readings at all times.
Position Responsibilities May include:
- Complete calibrations and qualifications in a safe, timely and accurate manner following calibration procedures and schedules.
- Responsible for proper handling, storage and maintenance of test instrumentation and calibration standards
- Identify project supply/equipment needs and convey to his/her supervisor.
- Always maintain a neat and professional calibration work area and projects a professional image.
- Always follow safety protocols when executing tasks and projects. Ensure that work areas are safe, neatly organized and professional on-site and in an office environment.
- Undertake additional projects and/or tasks related to Engineering as required.
- Follow written/verbal direction from leads/supervisor.
Nature & Scope:
- Works within knowledge to provide accurate testing conditions for operations.
- Works well as a team player and helps promote safety as our number one goal.
- Works under direct training and supervision of leads or senior calibration technicians
- Problems faced are not typically difficult nor complex.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to understand traceability, test accuracy and uncertainty ratios as part of ISO 17025 requirements.
- Ability to interoperate Standards.
- Familiar with pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical instrumentation, and apply concepts of calibration and requirements including accuracy testing.
- Ability to operate scissor lifts to reach instrumentation at higher levels.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel (Office, Excel, PP, Word).
- Basic understanding thermocouples, pressure transducers, current transducers, and digital power meters.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in an ISO 17025 certified calibration lab
- Education/Certification
- High School or GED required
People Management: No
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
- It requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
- Daily use of computer.
- May stand for extended periods when facilitating meeting, conducting calibration or walking in the facility.
- May be exposure to relatively high and low temperatures for a short period of times when accessing test rooms.
- Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
