What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscaper position at DALLAS BAPTIST UNIVERSITY?
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a Christian who is a member of a church that holds Jesus Christ to be their Savior and Lord, and who holds solely the Old Testament and the New Testament as sacred Scriptures.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
The Landscaper assists with maintaining the outdoor campus by performing landscaping tasks such as: mowing, weed-eating, fertilizing, pruning, watering, and picking up litter.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Works well with people in order to complete projects
- Able to work outdoors year round
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mow and trim all lawns on campus. Mow and maintain open fields and pond.
- Prune trees each fall and winter – including trees around buildings and in fields. Prune shrubs as needed throughout the year.
- Water lawns and plants where sprinkler systems do not yet exist.
- Landscape areas as requested by the director or vice president. Maintain landscapes as needed including weed control in all grass areas and flowerbeds.
- Fertilize lawns, shrubs, trees, and flower beds as needed.
- Pick up trash from buildings at designated areas in morning and evening. Pick up loose trash around buildings, parking lots, and entrances to campus each morning when needed.
- Sand campus entrances in the event of icy/wintry weather.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:
As agreed upon with the Vice President for Administration and Enrollment.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Regular hours between 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday but regularly flexible hours
will be required.
