What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager II (226 Days) position at Dallas Independent School District?
- Oversee all facets of assigned curriculum, including developing curriculum products, analyzing assessment data, providing technical assistance, and providing training. Align to the philosophy and vision of the district to ensure consistency, ensuring equity is forefront in the work and all students are provided opportunities for growth and success.
- Manage and monitor the content department partnerships, work-scopes, purchases, contracts, vendor relationships, and Board documents.
- Develop surveys to provide the content department with feedback from meetings with both external organizations and internal departments, as needed
- Serve as a liaison for the content department with other core content departments, the Teaching and Learning Division, Purchasing, School Leadership Division offices, Volunteer Partnership Services, Construction and Bond Services, other departments within, as well as external organizations on content specific projects and initiatives.
- Assist the content Director to complete content department Human Resources activities, including position postings, confirmation of appropriate funding sources and availability, grievances, and complaints.
- Oversee curriculum content coordinator deadlines and workflows and inform best practices.
- Organize and facilitate large scale content specific initiatives, such as new standards rollout, district wide curriculum and implementation.
- Monitor and approve curriculum content course codes for appropriate availability to campuses.
- Keep abreast of technical, legislative and professional development trends and help disseminate the information to appropriate personnel.
- Work with Dallas lSD Research and Evaluation department, as well as outside organizations in curriculum and / or program assessment as needed.
- Facilitate the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including assisting with the language of the RFP, as well as the review of content specific materials and resources.
- Facilitate and execute the implementation of content specific district-wide events, professional development logistics, and other extracurricular events including those before and after school, and on Saturdays.
- Maintain active involvement in related professional organizations.
- Experience with classroom teaching, coaching/leadership, curriculum writing and team management.
- Experience in successful completion of a variety of reports and requests in compliance with work scopes, grants, partnerships, as well as committees to develop and implement programs which impact student achievement.
- Ability to effectively manage budgets and resources, build cohesive teams, proactively seek out solutions, take initiative, and operate with a sense of urgency.
- Proficiency in developing, organizing, and conducting effective professional development.
- Knowledge of district curriculum and national, state, and local standards and initiatives in content area.
- Proficiency and efficiency in understanding legal and local policy to guide the management of both general operating and grant funds, including federal and state funds for district-wide programs.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills which are required to achieve the goals of the position.
- Ability to lead assigned personnel and partnerships in support of district and departmental goals and objectives through strong communication and decision making.
- Skill in successfully building cohesive teams and working well with others, while proactively seeking out innovative solutions / problem-solving, taking initiative, and functioning with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to plan, organize and execute large scale content specific educational events for the department.
- Demonstrated strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university required.
- Master’s Degree from an accredited university.
- Valid Texas Teacher Certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject level assigned.
- Bilingual/ESL Certification preferred.
- At least ten years of directly related educational experience in an educational setting with diverse student populations, including classroom teaching experience, coaching / leadership experience, curriculum writing, program, and partnership management experience.
