The Dallastown Area School District seeks a Part-Time, 10-Month Paraprofessional for the Learning Support classroom at Dallastown Area Intermediate School (Grades 4-6).02/23/2025
As a highly-qualified* instructional paraprofessional, you'll play a valuable role in inspiring and creating pathways for student success by supporting special education teachers in the delivery of supports and services for students with IEPs.
Your work schedule will follow student attendance full and half days during the school year - approximately 180 student days mid-August through early June - with full-day hours of approximately 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM, which includes 5.50 work hours and a half-hour unpaid lunch. Additional days may be arranged by your supervisor. While there are typically no pay periods July through August, you'll enjoy summers off to spend more time with your family. For a full school year, your bi-weekly pays will typically begin by mid-September and continue through late-June.
In addition to immediate inclusion/continuation in the Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS) through payroll contributions, you'll be eligible for Paid Leave (personal and sick days), after a successful Probationary Period of 90 calendar days. For the current school year, those days will be prorated based on your start date.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Working one-on-one or with small groups of students as directed by the teacher
- Aiding in supervision of students in both the classroom and the cafeteria
- Assisting teachers in presentation and development of learning materials and instructional exercises
- Performing routine clerical work
- Working with instructional media, office machines, and equipment
