As we scale rapidly through our next phase of growth, we’re seeking a Director of People with hands-on experience leading People functions in high-growth startups (Series A to C). You will serve as a cultural champion, embedding our values and vision into every employee experience, building a world-class People function, and empowering our leaders and teams.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership
- Talent Strategy: Advise the CEO and executive team on all aspects of talent—hiring priorities, talent density, organizational design, and performance management.
- Culture & Core Values: Lead initiatives that ensure Daloopa’s core values are deeply shared across all employees and woven into every stage of the employee lifecycle. Champion our vision of accelerating decision making for investment professionals, ensuring every employee is aligned and engaged with this mission.
- Executive Partner: Empower the executive team as a thought partner on leadership, team dynamics, talent gaps, and organizational effectiveness.
- Data-Driven Insights: Implement and use people analytics to identify performance gaps, inform business decisions, and track the ROI of People initiatives.
Hands-On People Operations
- Onboarding: Design and execute best-in-class onboarding experiences that introduce and reinforce our core values and vision from day one.
- Performance Management: Own and continuously improve performance review cycles, goal-setting, and feedback processes—ensuring alignment with our values and company mission.
- Employee Engagement: Develop and run engagement surveys, analyze results, and execute targeted action plans to drive retention and satisfaction. Proactively measure and strengthen employees’ connection to Daloopa’s vision and values.
- Compensation & Benefits: Oversee competitive, equitable comp and benefits programs; manage annual benchmarking and vendor relationships.
Building & Scaling Processes
- People Programs: Architect and scale core programs (career development, DEI, L&D, rewards & recognition, etc.) that reinforce Daloopa’s core values and vision.
- Compliance & Policy: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws; develop and update employee handbook and policies as needed.
- Systems & Tools: Manage HRIS/People Ops tech stack to support a seamless employee lifecycle.
Team Development
- Coaching & Development: Mentor managers on leadership, feedback, and team-building. Develop training and upskilling programs with a focus on values-driven leadership.
- Recruiting Partnership: Partner with hiring managers to ensure an exceptional candidate experience, maintaining a high bar for both skill and cultural alignment.
What You’ll Bring
- 8 years of progressive experience in People/HR roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity at a high-growth startup between Series A to C.
- Direct experience scaling People functions through periods of rapid headcount growth, organizational change, and evolving culture.
- Strong balance of strategic and tactical skills—equally comfortable shaping vision and rolling up your sleeves to execute.
- Trusted advisor to CEOs and executives, with demonstrated experience influencing at the leadership level.
- Track record building and scaling people programs across the full employee lifecycle.
- Expertise in US employment law and compliance (NY/CA a plus).
- Highly analytical, data-driven, and solutions-oriented—able to leverage metrics to drive business results.
