The Technician I, Equipment Services is responsible for repairing and maintaining custom synthesis platforms, custom automated laboratory equipment, and commercially available laboratory equipment as a member of the Equipment Services team.
This position reports to the Supervisor, Equipment Services-Weekdays and is part of the Equipment Services team located in Coralville, Iowa and will be an on-site role.
Shift: Weekdays, Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-5:00pm
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Support the reliability and sustainability of custom automated laboratory equipment in a high throughput environment
Coordinate and perform preventative maintenance services and address unplanned maintenance on equipment
Apply knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, fluidics, optical devices/systems, controls systems
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Associate degree or 2 years of work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Ability to exert 50-100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 25-50 lbs. of force frequently
Ability to travel between buildings onsite
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills—including the ability to use hand and power tools
Following diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications
Automation equipment testing or troubleshooting preferred - including Beckhoff TwinCat/EtherCat and Unitronic or similar control systems

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
