Senior Media Planner

Role Overview:

You will strategically plan, negotiate, and manage media campaigns for assigned client accounts. This important position will have the responsibility to manage day-to-day planning and analysis while maintaining strong relationships with clients, media partners, and internal teams. The responsibilities are varied and not limited to those listed below. You will be continuously striving toward innovative strategies to meet and exceed client business outcomes. How You Will Contribute:

  • With the support and direction of a Director of Media and/or an Associate Director of Media, manage and develop media plans, including Broadcast, Cable, Print, Out of Home, and all Digital Media
  • Develop points-of-view and related media analyses
  • Capable of buying non-digital media (with support and supervision as needed)
  • High level of attention to detail - vigorously review all work to ensure high-quality standards
  • Studies demographic data and consumer profiles to identify target audiences
  • Implements the process and assists with the management of the strategic and tactical execution of all media products for client partners
  • Confers with internal teams and client partners to establish media objectives and strategies
  • Implements the management of daily tasks in support of media deliverables
  • Evaluates a wide range of media vehicles and tactics to determine which most effectively reach the target audience
  • A foundational understanding of media planning methodologies & metrics that includes but is not limited to Reach, Frequency, Recency, Audience/Media Channel Duplication, ROAS, Conversion Planning and Measurement, and Performance Marketing
  • Develop and present media plans to internal teams and client partners for approval - making adjustments as necessary
  • Keep current on media trends and demonstrates understanding of client partners' business and priorities

SUPPORT DUTIES

  • Oversee and train assistant-level employees for the support-level work they perform and also help guide their overall growth and development
  • Attend strategy and brainstorming meetings for media planning & buying initiatives
  • Balance client demands with participation in broader agency initiatives, including the new business process
  • Encourage innovation and creativity throughout all projects by serving as a role model within the team.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience using Strata, or participation in training
  • Experience using media research tools, such as Prime Lingo (Scarborough), Experian-Simmons, MRI, ComScore, Google Analytics, etc.
  • Previous planning experience in the Automotive, Financial, Healthcare, Quick Service Restaurant or Retail categories is desirable
  • Proficiency in G-Suite, MS Office Suite – including a strong understanding of Excel and Powerpoint
  • Google AdWord certification is desirable, or participation in training
