We are a local CPA firm looking for a motivated and energetic bookkeeper/administrative assistant to join our team of professionals committed to excellence in client service. The bookkeeper/administrative assistant will be responsible for timely and accurate completion of monthly financial statements and related tax returns for clients in various industries. We need someone who is a self starter.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly, quarterly and/or annual accounting including: reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards and loans
- Follow up with clients regarding accounting matters and request for information
- Analyze results and report to CPA regarding variances
- Record journal entries and adjusting journal entries
- Develop and document specific client accounting procedures where appropriate
- Make recommendations to improve and /or streamline accounting procedures to promote deficiencies without compromising accuracy of reports
- Prepare tax returns for assigned accounting clients for all relevant taxing authorities
- Prepare financial statements or compilation reports in compliance with prescribed requirements
- Administrative assistant duties as required by owner of CPA firm
Skills and Qualifications
- 2-5 years of bookkeeping experience
- Experience with Quick books a must
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other cash basis of Accounting (OCBOA)
- Ability to prioritize work to meet critical deadlines and multitask in a fast paced environment is a must
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical time management, project management and organizational is essential
- Degree in Accounting is desired but not required depending on level of experience
- Knowledge and preparation of individual and business tax returns is a plus
- Computer skill in Microsoft Office
- Ultra Tax experience a plus but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
