Manufacturing Engineers are responsible for the development of processes required to successfully fabricate aerospace engine parts.
Essential functions of the position include:
- Develop manufacturing processes required to successfully fabricate parts based on customer specifications
- Evaluate and implement manufacturing process improvements
- Identify and lead problem-solving initiatives related to manufacturing processes and part creation
- Daily interaction with employees, customers, and suppliers
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Use of calipers, micrometers, high stands, and indicators
- Daily use of computer and various software, including IFS and Unigraphics
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications for the position include:
- Prior experience and/or education in the engineering field is required
- Proficiency with computer aided 2-D and 3-D design of complex 3-dimensional contours
- Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes that are needed to fabricate products
- Demonstrated dedication to understanding and applying lean manufacturing principles
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills is preferred
