What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Manager position at DAP?
We have an exciting opportunity for Quality Manager in our Baltimore, Maryland facility. This role will be responsible for providing assurance that products meet or exceed designated performance requirements and be responsible for lab personnel, equipment and operation.
Responsibilities:

- Provide supervision for all activities of the Quality Control Department across 4 shifts.
- Quick and efficient decision-making in a fast-paced 24/7 manufacturing facility.
- Manage the plant level Quality Management System (QMS). Ensure that the processes and procedures of the plant are in compliance through semi-annual audits and addressing all findings.
- Drive DAP QMS Fiscal Year Goals & Objectives.
- Hold routine meetings with R&D and within the plant to communicate performance and project status updates.
- Ensure that existing Manufacturing Procedures (Process Instructions) consistently produce compliant material. Review and approve changes to PI Sheets. Ensure associates are following established procedures.
- Work with technical customer service to review and investigate all assigned operations reports. Identify root cause on complaint issues. Implement corrective action processes to prevent reoccurrences.
- Assure that all non-conforming materials (packaging, raw materials, WIP, finished goods) are handled appropriately and root cause and corrective actions are identified and implemented.
- Work closely with R&D to ensure safe and successful plant trials. Responsible for organizing all aspects of the plant trial.
- Work closely with operations and engineering. Communicate all concerns and improvement recommendations from the plant to R&D and vice versa.
- Control formula management at the plant. Responsible for activating and deactivating formulas and communicating all changes to the other departments within the plant.
- Maintain the Quality Control Budget. Responsible for ordering all quality control supplies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 5 years of related experience
- Experience with lab analytical equipment
- Understanding and use of computer-based SPC systems
- Strong problem-solving skills
