What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tractor Tech 2 position at Dart Transit Company?
Dart Transit Company has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Diesel Truck Mechanic at our Lancaster, TX location.
Shift: Sunday - Wednesday 7am - 5:30pm
Sign - On Bonus: $3000 - 50% paid out after 90 days; 50% paid out after 180 days

$100 Steel Toe Boot Reimbursement Annually
$100 Prescription Safety Glasses Reimbursement Annually
$125 Tool Reimbursement Quarterly
PAID OVERTIME
Responsibilities will include:
- Perform diagnosis, repair and maintenance of fleet including electrical and brakes
- Preventative maintenance including oil change, brakes, lights, filters, tire pressure and tread depth, etc.
- Knowledge of repairs with Detroit Diesel, Cummins, and Mercedes Engines.
- Document work order details within the Company's internal order and billing program
- Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Use effective interpersonal skills to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers
- Good mechanical aptitude and work ethic needed
- Contribute to the goals of the shop, leadership team and company
- Be a positive role model for all team members
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred
- One to five years of mechanic experience on heavy-duty trucks
- Must have a Valid Driver's License
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Regularly required to use hands to handle materials, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear.
- Regularly lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
