Position Overview:
The Pre-Admissions Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring a smooth surgical experience for our patients. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a patient-focused healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Communication:
- Conduct pre-operative phone calls and in-person consultations in both Spanish and English.
- Ensure patients fully understand surgical instructions, preparation steps, and what to expect before surgery.
- Medical Records & Clearances:
- Obtain and review necessary medical records, lab results, and surgical clearances from physicians.
- Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner.
- Scheduling & Coordination:
- Coordinate pre-op appointments, imaging, and follow-ups.
- Confirm surgery dates and assist with scheduling logistics.
- Payments:
- Collect pre-admission payments and review financial policies with patients.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with surgical staff, anesthesiologists, and office administrators to ensure seamless coordination.
Qualifications:
- Must be fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken) – Required
- Previous experience in a medical office or surgical setting, preferably in pre-admissions or patient coordination
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with efficiency and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
