What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Center Services Technician position at Data Center Service Group LLC?
DSCG is seeking a Data Center Services Technician to join our growing operations team. This role supports mission-critical environments and focuses on data center decommissioning/restoration, fit-ups, conveyance systems, aisle containment, electrical support, and technical raised floor cleaning.
This is a hands-on, field-based position ideal for candidates with data center contractor/vendor experience. Electrical experience is a major plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform data center decommissioning and restoration (demo/removal, site cleanup, and preparation)
- Support data center fit-ups and white space build-outs
- Install and modify conveyance systems (basket tray, ladder rack, cable tray, and related infrastructure)
- Install and support aisle containment systems (hot/cold aisle containment)
- Assist with electrical work including:
- Supporting electricians
- Assisting with electrical equipment installs
- Power distribution equipment handling (PDUs, RPPs, panels, etc.)
- Perform technical raised floor cleaning and subfloor maintenance
- Safely handle and remove data center equipment and cabling
- Follow all data center safety, access, and compliance procedures
- Maintain clean, organized work areas in mission-critical environments
- Communicate professionally with clients and internal project managers
- Accurately document work performed
Preferred Qualifications (Strong Plus)
- Electrical experience (commercial/industrial)
- Experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities
- Experience with:
- Cable tray / ladder rack installation
- Rack & stack
- Aisle containment systems
- Experience with raised floor systems
- Mechanical or construction background
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (or willingness to obtain)
