Senior Test Engineer
Responsibilities
The Senior Test Engineer position involves developing and supporting testing of hardware and software for DDC products. The engineer will also be assigned other technical duties depending on skills, experience, and interests. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Primary/Essential Duties:
- Design and develop automated/manual test hardware/software that allow for future development and growth.
- Prepare and present test design, test results, and project status to all levels within the organization.
- Provide technical leadership within the Test Engineering department to solve technical challenges or problems, or to bring in new technical capabilities.
- Develop creative approaches that favorably optimize design tradeoffs for various elements of a design, such as test system cost, performance, feature set, time to implement, and technical risk.
- Contribute technical input to product specifications to ensure the product design includes specifications and features that facilitate efficient and effective testability of the product.
- Develop plans and schedules, and identify resources required to develop test systems for production requirements and design engineering evaluations.
- Research new equipment, methods, and techniques, and implement changes to provide cost effective test solutions.
- Perform failure analysis investigations during new product development and in support of manufacturing.
Qualifications
Educational / Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Graduate degree desirable.
- 7 years of related engineering experience.
- 5 years of experience in designing and implementing test fixtures, test procedures, and test software for ATE.
- Strong experience with programming languages used for automated test systems (e.g., LabWindows/CVI, C#, Visual Basic).
- Strong experience with tools for designing and developing hardware for automated test systems (e.g., Cadence OrCAD, ExpressSCH, Cadence Allegro, ExpressPCB).
- Experience with developing automated test sets for digital/analog/mixed signal products.
- Experience with test equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, multimeters, power supplies, electronic loads, communication adapters, logic analyzers, traffic analyzers, simulators).
- Experience with communication protocols (e.g., RS-232/422/485, CAN, JTAG, PCI, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, etc.).
- Experience with Microsoft Access and SQL databases for capturing test results.
