What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cabinet/Woodworking Shop Assistant position at Dave's Joint Custom Woodworking, LLC?
Seeking a part-time, focused, and self-motivated general woodshop assistant for 15-20 hours per week, Monday-Thursday.
You do not need to have prior cabinetry/woodworking experience, but you MUST have a strong desire to learn (and willingness to follow instructions), attention to detail, and an ability to focus for reasonable periods of time without distraction. We work on high-end custom cabinetry that requires meticulous attention to detail and a high standard of quality. You will be required to park your phone/airpods/smartwatch in the break room or your car when you are working in the shop.
This position presents a rare opportunity to learn custom cabinet-making and woodworking skills, with the potential (for the right candidate) to become a journeyman cabinet maker.
Please be aware that this job requires physical and mental stamina and a positive attitude. Day to day, you will lift and carry items around, kneel on the ground, squat, bend over, assist in picking up and moving heavy wood planks or cabinets from point A to B, sweep and wrangle sawdust, stand for multiple hours straight, work near large saws and power tools, and clean all areas of the shop.
Although prior experience isn’t required, you must have a clean background and be able to pass a drug test. Our customers expect a lot from us, and we are looking for someone who will help us exceed that expectation.
