What are the responsibilities and job description for the Architectural Historian position at David Evans & Associates Inc?
DEA’s Boise, ID office is seeking an Architectural Historian to help grow our Environmental Permitting and Compliance team. The primary focus for this position will be to perform cultural resource and historical investigations for transportation, land development and water projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform cultural resource and historical investigations in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, Section 404 of the Clean Waters Act, and Idaho state regulations.
- Conduct context and property-specific research for local agencies.
- Prepare cultural resource reports according to Section 106, which includes the preparation of architectural site forms and Archaeological and Historical Site Reports.
- Evaluate resources under the National Register of Historic Places criteria.
- Complete intensive and reconnaissance field surveys for areas throughout Idaho using measured survey, GIS mapping and data collection, and photography.
- Manage projects across various agencies, including tracking project schedules and statuses and reporting updates to the project manager.

Basic Qualifications:
- Masters degree Architecture, History, or Building History or related field
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, Outlook
- Experience with Idaho Transportation Department projects
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse conditions across the western states; must be available for occasional travel
- Experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
- Knowledge of AutoCAD
