The Evening Cosmetology Faculty position is a part-time position and is located at the Davidson Campus. Classes meet in the evening in our bilingual face-to-face program. The Adjunct Cosmetology Faculty is responsible for designing and implementing learning strategies for students; developing course syllabi and instructional materials; maintaining instructional records; maintaining state board paperwork; and implementing strategies for student success. This position reports directly to the Director, Community Engagement. Davidson Davie Community College faculty members have the following responsibilities, including, but not limited to:
Promote the college's mission, vision, and values
Teach assigned courses at various locations to meet program needs, including, but not limited to, day, evening, weekend, and online
Ensure that each class session contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency
Evaluate student progress and provide appropriate, timely feedback
Provide and/or facilitate quality experiences in the learning environment(s) to meet program needs
Develop course syllabi and provide appropriate written information to students concerning course evaluation and criteria
Incorporate appropriate instructional technology to enhance student learning
Assist in the evaluation of courses and programs
Prepare and submit instructional records, reports, and grades established by institutional policy.
Participate in professional development to enhance instructional and technical skills
Attend appropriate internal and external meetings
Assist in student recruitment and retention
Maintain accessibility to students, faculty, and staff
Maintain a high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.

Required Qualifications:
Diploma in Cosmetology with the requirement of an Associate’s Degree within 3 years of start date
Current Cosmetology Teaching License through the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners
Current Cosmetology License through the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners
Minimum of three years of employment in Cosmetic Arts
Ability to work effectively and collegially with others in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fluent in Spanish
Community College teaching experience
Experience using a Learning Management System, such as Moodle, to deliver course content
