Job Description
Davis Behavioral Health, Inc. is actively recruiting a part-time Medication Delivery Technician to work in the FAST program on the Adult Mental Health Outpatient team. This position will be based out of the DBH Layton office; however, the majority of the work will be conducted in the community throughout Davis County.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Medication Delivery Technician is an entry-level social worker position who works with adult who live with a severe and persistent mental illness and are unable to come to DBH's clinics to receive their prescribed medication. The Medication Delivery Technician provides and documents personal services and occasional targeted case management to the adult clients they work with.
Essential Job Functions
The Medication Delivery Technician must be able to complete the following essential job functions:
- Pick up prepared medication bubble-packs from the Medication Management clinic.
- Deliver prescribed medications to clients in their residences.
- Monitor clients to ensure medication is taken as prescribed.
- Monitor clients for medication side effects.
- Observe clients' current behaviors.
- Complete all required clinical documentation on the same day deliveries were completed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Employment Classification & Schedule
This position is classified as part-time, non-exempt.
The proposed schedule for this position is Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Location
The DBH Layton Campus is located at 2250 North Robins Dr., Layton, UT 84041.
Compensation
The hourly rate for this position is $15.00 per hour.
Receiving Services at DBH
It is highly preferred that individuals who are interested in obtaining employment at DBH, their spouse, or one of their dependents not be actively receiving services at DBH except for medication management services to eliminate/avoid possible conflicts or uncomfortable boundaries.
Introductory Period
All new employees at DBH have a 6-month introductory period to assess whether they can perform the essential functions of the job at the expected level, within the specified timeframes, and are a good fit for the job.

Required Qualifications
Education/Licensure/Certification
High school diploma, or equivalent.
AND
The Medication Delivery Technician must complete and maintain certification in First Aid and CPR.
Experience Required
Demonstrated experience in the following areas is essential:
- Ability to work diligently and maintain company standards without prompting.

- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to motivate and engage clients.
- General understanding of mental illness and substance use disorders.
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality.
The ideal candidate will also have a working knowledge of mental health and substance use disorder services, community resources, experience working with clients that have severe mental illness, is hardworking, and can work independently as well as in a team environment.
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications
The Medication Delivery Technician must possess the following skills, abilities, and qualifications to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:
- Must be at least 18-years-old
- Proficiently utilize required systems and/or equipment related to performing essential functions of the job.
- Ability to independently manage schedule and assigned caseload, including scheduling appointments with clients, attending required meetings, coordination of care, supervision, and other work activities related to the completion of essential job functions.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- A clean driving record is also required to utilize the DBH vehicle fleet.
- Ability to assist clients in monitoring their medications.
All employees at DBH must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check as well as a pre-employment drug screening. Since Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants the company and its employees must comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.
Preference will also be given to individuals who:
- Have good organizational and practice management skills.
- Can work independently and effectively.
- Be flexible in days and hours available for scheduled work to best meet the need of clients and DBH.
Physical Demands
Tasks require a variety of physical activities, not generally involving muscular strain, but do require frequent walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and seeing. Common eye, hand, and finger dexterity are required for many tasks. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, and discriminating thinking. Periodic interaction with youth or adults in crisis requiring participation in de-escalation processes may occur causing stress or threat of physical injury.

Davis Behavioral Health is a drug-free workplace and requires all employees to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening. DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol; therefore, making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a valid sample. Candidates who are offered employment are required to report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within 24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department.

Further, all employees at DBH must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check as part of DBH's licensing agreement with the State of Utah. Failure to pass either screening will result in the termination of any job offer submitted and/or employment for any individual who has started employment while the criminal background screening is in process. Pending and/or open charges will likely impact a candidate's ability to pass the pre-employment criminal background screening.
