Davis Farmland Entertainment Operations Manager
Davis Farmland, a fast-growing, family-run, farm entertainment park, in Sterling, MA, is seeking a full-time, year-round, Entertainment Operations Manager.
Davis Farmland features the largest collection of endangered farm animals in North America for families with young children to interact with, award-winning children’s play areas, a water spray park, plus apple and pumpkin picking in the fall, and a variety of daytime, evening, and special events throughout the season to accommodate varying groups of guests.
This Entertainment Operations Manager position is an opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to dive into our fast-paced, dynamic environment and experience a true growth company.
We are seeking a seasoned, smart, detailed, and customer-oriented person to take the lead of our Farmland Farmers Team. The right person will be responsible for managing the overall daily entertainment operations including hiring, training, scheduling, and motivating staff to provide friendly and proactive service that exceeds customers’ expectations. Planning and overseeing daily and weekend events.
The successful candidate will be expected to work with owners and other farmpark managers to develop action plans to ensure repeat customer business, increase revenues, and control expenses to maximize entertainment profit. The right candidate will ensure that the venue meets company standards for cleanliness, organization, appearance, and function. The ideal candidate will be high-energy, creative, relentlessly positive, have an eye for detail, and have:
- A business or operations-related degree or relevant work experience
- A minimum of 3 years experience in people management at an entertainment or restaurant business
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, ever changing work environment.
- Excellent crisis management skills & thinks well under pressure with distractions.
- Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities and then re-prioritize within tight timelines. Must be able to work in a team setting with a large staff of youth.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with extremely strong attention to detail
- Full availability on days, certain evenings and weekends as well as the ability to work 10 hour days as needed
- A positive, joyful, upbeat, and energetic attitude – leading by example
- Unquestionable integrity, honesty, directness, and professionalism
- The ability to present yourself and the company in a professional manner at all times, have a sense of humor and display a cheerful willingness to do whatever needs to be done to help the team
- Physical requirements of the position require someone who is able to lift 50 pounds, very mobile and able to manage by walking around, tolerant of seasonal weather and allergies like hay and animals dander.
