Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and storing cattle and sheep in accordance with animal welfare best practice guidelines.
Responsibilities
The Role
- Unloading and transferring animals to holding pens prior to slaughter;
- Reading ear tags and allocating kill numbers;
- Checking permits and carrying out FCI and transport audits;
- Ensuring permits and information is put on to the system correctly;
- Assist with the daily cleaning schedule in Lairage;
- Maintaining Health, Safety and Hygiene Standards in accordance with company rules and regulations.
Qualifications
The Person
- Possess GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent);
- Previous experience in cattle and sheep handling is essential;
- Knowledge of animal welfare best practice;
- Must have the ability to work on their own initiative whilst also working as part of a team;
- IT Skills essential
