Fiber Installation Technician

This installer position will be responsible for running service drops above and below ground to homes and businesses. While there will be times when you have to go in homes and perform a full installation, the primary responsibility will be outdoors running flat service drops.

You will need to be comfortable working with plowing/trenching equipment and operating a bucket truck, as well as, working on a ladder at heights between 15’-25’. You will be taught to fusion splice, operate various vibratory plows, and handle different types of telecommunication tools.

DAILY TASKS:

• Running customer service drops underground and over head.
• Operating small equipment and hand tools including a shovel.
• Aerial service installation with a cable lasher.
• Troubleshoot service issues and repair/replace lines as necessary.
• Log on/off tickets and perform daily notes of work performed via all company platforms.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of Public Act 174 (Miss-Dig).
• Use of vibratory plow and trenching equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 50 -100 pounds.
• Effectively manage high stress situations.
• Basic home networking.

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
