What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prevention Educator position at Dayton Area School Consortium?
Job Title: Prevention Educator
Description: Serve as a part of our Prevention Team in our Social Emotional Learning Division delivering specific prevention and postvention programs and services to students in Montgomery County schools. Prevention programming for 2023-2024 will be targeting topics such as: risk assessment, vaping prevention, suicide prevention, alcohol and drug prevention, and community and environmental supports.
Specific duties include:
Training in specific prevention program curriculum
Working with local districts to coordinate, implement, support and evaluate prevention programs as assigned
Delivering programming to students of various age/grade levels
Supporting other prevention-related activities as needed
Seeking ongoing training and professional development around prevention education and social emotional learning
Willingness to obtain prevention certification
Working as a flexible part of a prevention team
Supporting and building the capacity of the Social Emotional Learning Division to meet the needs of area schools and students
Assignment: Various Montgomery County Schools
Full Time
Duty Days: 185
$56,000
Minimum Qualifications:
Satisfactory results on fingerprinting and criminal records check. (Provided for free by MCESC)
A desire to support positive prevention programming for local youth
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field, and/or a prevention specialist certification
