Job Details
A staff level position requiring the special procedures technologist to possess knowledge of all aspects of special procedures/heart cath exams and to perform specialized exams on children of all ages using the vascular lab and other related equipment. Function in the capacity of diagnostic technologist in the absence of special procedures and produce quality diagnostic films on patients of all ages using all equipment including fluoroscopy, surgical c-arm and portable equipment. Provide services at times which are regularly and conveniently available to meet the needs of the department’s customers including weekends and holidays. Perform tasks with minimal supervision and with strict adherence to quality parameters as determined by the department. Participate in the hospital-wide infection control program. Educate patients and their parents regarding procedures performed within the department. Responsible in part for performance of the organization’s systems and processes while continuing to recognize the importance of the individual competence of staff. Requires on-call responsibility. Work with student technologists to assure a positive learning experience while on clinical rotations at the hospital.
