Game/Arcade Technician

SUMMARY: The Game/Arcade Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of Daytona Lagoon’s arcade and attractions. This includes troubleshooting, repairs, parts management, preventative maintenance, cleanliness, record keeping, and vendor support. The technician will also provide IT support for Windows environments, networking concepts, and the park’s audio system. Additionally, the technician will perform maintenance tasks for attractions such as Laser Tag, Bumper Cars, and the Rock Wall, as well as general maintenance duties.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities:
- Arcade Equipment Maintenance: Regularly service and maintain arcade equipment to ensure functionality.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Respond to and resolve machine malfunctions by analyzing and identifying issues.
- Installation and Upkeep: Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electronic components in arcade machines.
- Workshop Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workshop environment.
- Electronic Troubleshooting: Perform basic electronic troubleshooting and repairs.
- IT Support: Assist with point-of-sale software, VOIP phones, merchant processing hardware, and network hardware and servers.
- Audio System Maintenance: Maintain and manage the park audio system.
- Card System Management: Install and maintain card readers, ensuring integration with the park’s point of sale system.
- Staff Training: Train general staff on game troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Keep detailed records of inventory, orders, parts, and repairs.
- Machine Movement: Manage the movement and proper assembly of arcade machines.
- Payout Management: Ensure redemption game payouts are maintained at management-agreed levels.
- Vendor Communication: Communicate effectively with 3rd-party support personnel.
- OEM Manuals: Read and follow Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals.
- On-call Support: Provide minimal on-call support as required.
- General Duties: Perform floor staff and janitorial duties when necessary.
- Safety and Cleanliness: Ensure facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Attractions Maintenance: Perform maintenance tasks for Laser Tag, Bumper Cars, and the Rock Wall to ensure they are safe and operational.
- General Maintenance: Conduct general maintenance duties throughout the park to ensure all areas are well-maintained and operational.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Maintenance Assistance: Support the maintenance department as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum two years of experience as a game technician in the amusement industry; Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
- Physical ability to bend, stretch, lift, walk up and down stairs, and carry objects over long distances.
- Proficiency in using power tools and working around noisy equipment.
- Strong adherence to safety concerns and regulations.
