Assembly/Laborer

JOB SUMMARY:

To assemble finished product using parts, sub-assemblies, and electrical components to engineering specifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Reads and interprets blueprints to assemble machines, both electrical and mechanical parts, and works with engineering on ensuring proper assembly and update prints.

2. Uses full range of precision measuring and gauging tools and various hand tools to perform accurate assembly of machine.

3. Notifies proper personnel if parts needed are not available or not properly scheduled for timely completion.

4. Assist sub-assembly and machine shop should scheduling require such assistance.

5. Set up and test finished machines under power, testing for mechanical and electrical difficulties, tracing to their sources and correcting the problems.

6. Assist in assembly, machine shop, and paint areas as needed.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for cleanliness of assembly area or any other areas you are working in at that time.

2. Other duties as asked.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of formal two-year technical training program or equivalent hands-on experience.

Works with power driven equipment; overhaul and repair work may involve assignments in overhead structures or work beneath machinery. Frequent stooping, bending, and lifting required.

Close attention and care are required to prevent damage to complex machine tools. High mental and visual effort required.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
