SUMMARY


The Credit Specialist is part of the Controlling & Finance department, is responsible for supporting the credit granting process for De Nora Water Technologies' Americas region. This role includes evaluating the creditworthiness of potential customers, managing credit risks, and ensuring timely payments to optimize cash flow. Additionally, the Credit Specialist collaborates across various functions to ensure cohesive risk management in relationships with third-party customers and vendors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Credit Risk Management and Collection


Credit Management & Collection:


  • Review and authorize credit requests, obtaining and analyzing analytic data and statistics from risk assessment tools such as Dunn & Bradstreet and Experian.
  • Assess, approve and update credit limits in the system in keeping with Group’s policy.
  • Coordinate the issuance of Letters of Credit by banks and sureties under contractual agreements to ensure the company's ability to perform contracts and pay its suppliers.


Management of Accounts Receivables:


  • Direct internal and third-party collection specialists to ensure impactful customer engagements.
  • Synthesize feedback from collection calls and collaborate with customer-facing teams, including project managers, sales, and legal, to identify root causes and drive solutions for issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive notes and statuses for records on the Customer Aging Report and publish them to the Group’s process stakeholders.


Credit Reporting and Analysis:


  • Monitor customer credit performance, analyze credit data, and prepare reports for management, with particular focus on provisioning for bad debt receivables.


Credit Policy Implementation:


  • Implement and maintain the Group’s credit policies and procedures.
  • Other Support – Aide in providing financial inputs for Vendor Registrations required by Customers to on-board company’s account.


Cash Flow and Project Controlling Support


Risk Management:


  • Assist the Sales and Legal teams in developing a robust project intake cash flow profile, addressing any deviations from quoted payment milestones and terms.
  • Collaborate with the Legal team to create documentation for project kick-off that includes risk mitigation narratives and actions for project approvals.


Project Controlling Support:


  • Act as a support to the Controllers in developing accurate cash inflow forecasts, monitoring and creating narratives for actual results that deviate from the forecast.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management team to execute billing and payment milestones to achieve cash flow targets.


Insurance Management:


  • Review insurance conditions for project contracts, engage with agents to address any non-policy congruent terms, and partner with the Legal team for cohesive resolutions.
  • Serve as the Finance representative for damage claims and assist in claims settlement transactions.


Tax Planning, Advisory and Execution


Tax Filings:

  • Engage with and File Taxes in compliance with Jurisdictional guidelines and policies.

Tax Planning and Advisory:

  • Research and respond to day-to-day sales tax matters received from sales and project management teams, and facilitate resolution with external Tax Advisors, as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in ICT tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint
  • Experience with ERP systems, including SAP knowledge is a plus


EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in customer credit risk, cash management, business tax filings, or similar scope of work
