Title: Help Desk Technician – Middle School
FLSA Status: ____Exempt _X_ Non-Exempt ___ Non-Exempt - Part-time
Job Summary:
The Help Desk Technician at De Smet Jesuit Middle School is responsible for
handling computer hardware and software issues that the students and teachers may
encounter. The Help Desk Technician is responsible for replacing parts, ordering new
parts when necessary, documenting all work performed on equipment, and scheduling
repairs for equipment.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot computer related issues.
- Replace parts as needed.
- Maintain a parts inventory.
- Submit warranty cases for parts or repairs.
- Work closely with the Systems Engineers to service faulty equipment
- Schedule service of tablets and schedule pickups of equipment returned to
- Issue loaners to students having tablets serviced and maintains records of
- Maintain records of equipment being repaired or serviced.
- Assist with reimaging student tablets over summer and preparing new

Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience working in an IT support role
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related area
- A certification
- Experience working in an academic environment
