The Employment Support Specialist plays a crucial role in our community-based employment program by assisting individuals in maintaining competitive employment. The Employment Support Specialist will work on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The positon is located in Newark, NJ. CANIDATES MUST HAVE THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Assist individuals in maintaining competitive employment by providing ongoing support and guidance.
2. Redirect individuals' focus and attention to tasks while they are at work, ensuring productivity and efficiency.
3. Provide assistance to individuals with serving food, adhering to established protocols and standards.
4. Support clients in a cafeteria setting by serving them with professionalism and courtesy.
5. Assist with food setup, ensuring that everything is prepared and organized for service.
6. Aid in clean-up activities, maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment.
7. Possess the ability to lift up to 25 lbs comfortably and safely.
8. Adapt to and thrive in a fast-paced work environment, managing time and prioritizing tasks effectively.
9. Follow directions diligently and execute tasks accurately.
10. Demonstrate problem-solving skills, proactively addressing challenges that may arise during work.
11. Ensure clients accurately clock in and out of work, recording their attendance reliably.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Some college education is preferred.
3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and connect with individuals effectively.
4. Exceptional time management and organizational skills, ensuring efficient completion of tasks.
5. Prior experience in a similar role is a plus, although we are willing to provide training for the right candidate.
6. Background in teaching, education, psychology, sociology, or related fields is desirable.
7. Strong writing skills to effectively document client progress and communicate with team members.
8. Reliable and upbeat individual who is eager to learn new skills.

The days and hours are listed below:
Mondays: 5 hours
Tuesdays & Thursday from 9:00 AM - 7:30PM.
Wednesday: Start time 7:00 AM
Friday: 5 Hours
Total hours: 36 Hours
Job Duties
- Assist the individuals placed in competitive employment and maintain employment
- Redirect tasks while at work
- Assist the individual with serving food
- Assist with serving clients in a cafeteria setting
- Food setup
- Assist with with clean up
- Ability to lift 25 LBS
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow directions and execute
- Ability to problem solve
- Ensure the client clocks in and out of work
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some collage preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Prior experience is a plus but we will train for the right person
- Teaching/Educational background is a plus
- Psychology/Sociology/Education studies is a plus
- Good writing skills
