Each role in our company plays an essential part in crafting the ideal coffee experience, from sourcing and roasting to delivering that fresh cup to our customers. We're looking to add a Deductions Analyst to our Finance team.

Functions and duties of this role include, but not limited to :

Analyze promotion events, examine accuracy of charges received and validate / reconcile key components of charges received

For valid charges, match to appropriate trade promotion and actualize trade spend by retailer and event

For invalid charges, communicate variances to AR Specialist and assist with disputing charges

Collaborate with Sales to ensure all promotions and deductions are properly inputted into the Trade Promotion Management System (TPM)

Examine Root Price variances between sales orders and sell-in price along with projected trade funding and actual funding

Communicate pricing variances to AR Specialist and assist with disputing charges

Become super user of TPM and assist with training new individuals (Sales) on how to use the system

Work with Sales to obtain contracts and attach documents within the TPM

Assist with updates to customer promotional plans

Partner with FP&A Team to accurately forecast trade spend and deductions and assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting

Input trade spend into customer income statements to actualize and track business vs. LY and vs. Plan

Work with Sales to recalculate and verify all Broker Commissions Payables

Assist with year-end audit support

Assist in special projects as needed related to trade promotion entry and maintenance.

Improve Sales and Trade performance by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends and recommending actions to management

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business, economics, or any other business-related field) required

1 year working in a Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business position

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word)

Highly organized, attentive to detail, dependable, and possessing strong communication skillls

Strong understanding of basic accounting principals and financial statements and reporting

Ability to manage multiple priorities, delivering and communicating results, showing initiative and managing large data sets

Ability to interact with vendors and colleagues in a thoughtful, attentive and respectful manner

Experience working in forecasting and financial modeling preferred

Comfortable working in diverse, motivating, energetic environment, adhering to tight deadlines

Willingness to continuously learn, adapt, and improve in the face of challenges and new opportunities

Ability to approach challenges with creativity and resourcefulness, finding effective solutions to ambiguous situations

Proactively identify opportunities for improvement

Location / Remote Considerations : This role is primarily based out of our Saratoga Springs office, with a schedule of four in-office days (Monday - Thursday) and one remote day (Friday). However, candidates residing 75 miles or more from the office and possessing significant experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry may be eligible for fully remote work.

Expected Salary : $65,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and abilities. This role is also eligible for a bonus, medical benefits, a 401(k) plan, and other company benefits.
