What are the responsibilities and job description for the Die Maker position at Deceuninck North America?

Deceuninck North America is seeking a Die Maker for its Monroe, OH facility. In this role, the Die Maker supplies extrusion tooling to Deceuninck North America Production for use in supplying our customers with lineals and overseeing rework and troubleshoot existing extrusion tooling.  If you enjoy interacting with all levels of the organization and want to be part of a culture that fosters positive employee relations, please submit your resume for further consideration.  Starting wage is $26/hour with a work schedule consisting of: Mon-Fri from 7:00am to 3:30pm.
Core Responsibilities:
  • To cooperate with Tool Engineering in the design of and oversee the production, assembly and tuning of new extrusion tooling.
  • To rework existing tooling by testing, troubleshooting and mechanically repairing the tools.
  • To oversee machinists and helpers assigned to their tooling team.
  • To do machining as required to balance the workflow and to assist the Process Technicians as required in tryout of new and existing tooling.
  • To work with Product Engineering and Quality during the approval process to complete an acceptable profile in a timely manner.
  • Complete paperwork for revisions done on tooling during the tuning process.
  • To complete set up paperwork for Tooling Maintenance to use to setup the tooling after cleaning or part replacement.
  • Operate machine tools including lathes, mills, drills, grinders and saws.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates language ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and volume.  Can apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry on the extrusion line.
  • Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but simple written or oral instructions.  Able to problem-solve with a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Commitment to maintain good attendance and punctuality and willing to work extra hours when needed to help production meet customer expectation.
  • Adaptable and able to meet changing conditions and at ease learning new duties.
  • Takes initiative and shows interest in the job by asking questions and continuing to learn more about the process and equipment capabilities.  Volunteers for special projects when available and offers suggestions for improvement on a regular basis.
  • Able to be a team player and works well with others, has good communication skills and strives to resolve conflict in a positive manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and Is able to handle multiple tasks with exceptional attention to detail.  Can work successfully with many people on different tasks.
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred. 
  • Three years’ experience in precision machining environment.
  • Schooling in machine trades preferred.
  • Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings.
  • Extrusion experience preferred.
