The Shop Attendant supports improvement in Field Service department processes including Procedures, Tech Manual review, and Customer Support worldwide, and supports the growth of Defense Maritime Solutions Naval Services.
Main Responsibilities:
Provides mechanical and supervisory services to assemble, install, repair, overhaul, and maintain customer and DMS property and tools in accordance with established procedures.
Standards:
- Performs and supervises assembly, installation, repair, and maintenance of company products in the shop.
- Assist with the direction of repairs and installation of company products in the shop.
- Accomplish minor repairs, inspect work completed, and assure performance in accordance with work standards.
- Utilizes technical information, repair specifications, and procedures to accomplish requirements.
- Prepare and submit complete service reports and QA documentation on each project. Document actions taken or needed and make recommendations to customers and internal management regarding improvement opportunities.
- Manage and Maintain Tooling for field service activities.
- Maintain shop so that work can be performed safely and effectively.
- Project a positive image of the company and products.
- Maintains personal skill levels and continually develops new skills to maintain proficiency with new and evolving products.
- Manage Customer/Government property.
- Move material as needed to support business between facilities.
- Assist with building maintenance as needed.
Development Responsibilities:
- Applies methods in proper assembly, service, installation, and repairs of company products.
- Familiar with strategies and methods to achieve sales and service goals.
- Ensures that documentation is complete, and that information is wholly communicated to Management, Sales, Operations, and Contract Management as required to ensure that all requirements are fulfilled on time and within budget.
- Resolves workplace conflicts as necessary. Adheres to workplace safety, security, and housekeeping standards.
- Interfaces with Coworkers and leadership to promote the positive image of the corporation.
Authorities:
- In accordance with Written Statements of Internal Control.
Professional Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Knowledge and skill in using computer software, including Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint
- Interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- 1-3 years of mechanical and shop experience
