What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technology Technician position at DeForest Area School District?
DeForest Area School District is located just ten miles northeast of Madison in Dane County. We offer outstanding facilities and a competitive salary and benefits package. Duties include: Set-up, install, and maintain computer systems, including system hardware upgrades, printers, computer peripherals, and related software; ensure software licensing complies with license requirements; perform repair of computer hardware, printers, and peripherals, including acquisition of parts and maintaining related records; provide end-user support; prioritize/respond to Technology Requests and maintain related records; and assist in planning, development and installation of district technology-related systems. This position will work either five 8 hour days or four 10 hour days. A cover letter AND resume is required.
Qualifications
Requires an Associate degree in a related technical field with two to three years experience in Windows based PC’s and a basic understanding of networking systems; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. Also requires prior experience in the maintenance and installation of computer hardware and software, printer hardware repair/ maintenance, and troubleshooting computer/ end-user problems. A valid Wisconsin driver’s license is required with a favorable driving record.
