Accounting Manager

What we need:

Defyned Brands is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to be in a role that highly contributes to the financial success of the company. To thrive in this role, you must be willing to get into the details while also maintaining the levity to drive long-term structural improvements across the organization. You must be an “A” Player.

What you will own:

• Effective management of an off-shored team leveraging Finance as a Service solution
• Monthly and annual close processes, as well as the mundane day-to-day, delivered timely and accurately in accordance to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Managing risk through continued development of financial and accounting policies and procedures, compliance and effective internal controls
• Relationships with external service providers including annual audit, periodic tax returns and quality of earnings
• Sales and use tax compliance by state as it relates to physical retail locations and eCommerce platforms through effective ownership and review of sales tax software submissions
• Support of business initiatives through direct collaboration with finance, operations, supply chain and IT

• You will have strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively and influentially communicate to all levels within an organization
• You will have strong technical knowledge of ERP systems and other information technology platforms
• You will have a deep understanding of GAAP and will be up-to-date on latest guidance
• You will take the initiative, multi-task and remain flexible with changing priorities having the ability to adapt to rapid change and think creatively
• You will exhibit a high level of attention to detail, self-confidence and character with a willingness to be hands-on
  

What experience is desired:

• Exhibited pattern of high-trajectory career
• 5 years accounting experience
• CPA required, strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
• Experience using financial reporting systems (NetSuite highly desired)
• Experience managing or leading others including assessment of work and development opportunities
• Experience in retail and/or e-commerce operations is highly desired
• Manufacturing accounting experience a plus
