Located in our Lakeview office on the north side of Chicago, our Carrier Sales Representatives are responsible for identifying, negotiating, and booking shipments with our network of carrier partners as well as adding new carriers to our network. We are a fast paced, highly collaborative, team oriented company. The Carrier Sales Rep represents DeGroot Logistics professionally and favorably in all interactions internally and externally.



Day to Day:


  • Perform the Carrier Sales Representative role in a performance driven environment, which is free from heavy corporate bureaucracy.
  • Substantial potential to establish and manage relationships with large fleet carrier opportunities.
  • Focus on metrics that are impactful to the bottom line (Margin, Volume, Service Levels), no regard for Vanity Metrics (call count, talk time).
  • Continue to maintain the strong relationships with your current carrier partners, simultaneously building your book of contacts and lane opportunities.
  • Strong team atmosphere built for strong service levels driven by 7:1 reps to manager ratio.
  • Competitive, Uncapped Commission Opportunities.
  • Learn and continue to grow daily in a collaborative environment at a 3PL designed for Carrier Rep success and innovation.
  • Base pay is weekly (Commission Check) once a month.

Desired Experience and Attributes:


  • Must have 1.5 plus years of experience as a Carrier Rep at a 3PL.
  • Congenial personality with effective oral and digital communication skills.
  • Ability to make profitable business decisions and articulate ideas to peers and company leadership.
  • Must possess exceptional business instincts.
  • Must understand individual strengths and areas for growth and development.
  • Strong Understanding of truckload market dynamics and cycles.
