What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembler, 1st Shift position at Deister Machine Company?
DUTIES:
- Plans assembly procedures, following specifications.
- Filing and grinding of metal to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts.
- Drills, taps, or reams holes.
- Aligns components, and bolts them together.
- Installs moving parts, such as shafts or bearings, and works them to test free movement.
- Aligns and meshes gears to assemble system of gears.
- Installs mesh cloth, perforated plate, or urethane panels.
- Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product.
- Uses hoists and cranes to move or assemble subcomponents
- Operates magnetic drills, grinders, reamers, and impacts as necessary.
- Responsible for care and use of tools, and returns to crib when done.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to read a tape measure and prints
- Must be proactive and a self-starter
- Must have good attendance
- Must work well with others
- Must be able to problem solve & trouble shoot in real time
